ETP Instrumentation
Industrial effluent varies with production and often contains acids, alkalis, oils and metals. ETP instruments must survive the chemistry and give operators the readings they need to keep the outlet within limits.
Instruments for each stage of an ETP
| Stage | What to measure | Recommended instrument |
|---|---|---|
| Collection and equalisation | Level, pH | Radar level transmitter, pH controller PH101 |
| Neutralisation | pH | pH controller with acid/alkali dosing relays |
| Chemical treatment | ORP (cyanide, chrome) | ORP controller ORP101 |
| Effluent transfer | Flow | PTFE-lined electromagnetic flow meter |
| Oil separation | Oil in water | Oil in water sensor |
| Final outlet | COD, BOD, TSS, pH, flow | Online continuous effluent monitoring system |
Frequently asked questions
Which lining should I choose for an ETP flow meter?
PTFE or FEP linings resist almost all acids and alkalis. The electrode metal must also match the effluent – see the lining and electrode selection tables on the ETP flow meter page.
Can the online monitoring system send data to both CPCB and SPCB?
Yes. The on-board gateway transmits to CPCB/SPCB servers and the Senvolt cloud dashboard simultaneously, without a separate PC.
